September is National Bourbon Heritage Month, declared so by the Senate in 2007. What makes bourbon different from other whiskeys? By law, its mash must be made of at least 51% corn and aged in charred new oak barrels, lending its trademark sweet-smoky profile that makes it an ideal base from which to build a cocktail. In “3 Ingredient Cocktails,” you’ll find the “Presbyterian,” a drink featuring 1 ½ ounce of bourbon, 2 ounces of club soda and 2 ounces of ginger ale. Just add bourdon to a highball glass and fill with ice. Splash in the soda and ginger ale and stir gently. Thank you U.S. Senate!
